The Show Will Go On - Our Convention Is Going Virtual! June 6 - June 13, 2021

The organization and planning for the 2021 FJMC Biennial Convention scheduled for Chicago this summer was well ahead of every other previous convention.  Unfortunately, Covid-19 has made it impossible for our being able to safely meet in person.  We have not been deterred.  There was a famous saying, “The Show Must Go On”.

As a result, the 2021 FJMC Virtual Convention has been born - an opportunity for all members of the organization to be able to “experience” various components of Convention without the costs associated with travel and accommodation, right from the comfort of your own home.  Virtual hugs and schmoozing will replace what many of us are accustomed to with a typical FJMC convention.  The timing and number of programs and events have been reduced to accommodate all participants from all time zones.

Rather than take time away from you and your families during what is likely precious summer weekends, the 2021 Virtual Convention will be held from Sunday, June 6, 2021 to Sunday, June 13, 2021.  Our tentative schedule will involve programming commencing late mornings / early afternoons Eastern time on both Sundays and evening programs on weeknights (Eastern time).

We have now created a great opportunity for all members of the organization to participate in a virtual Convention.  The cost for registration is $36 per person.  Due to logistical constraints, you will have to be responsible for your own food and drink.

We encourage everyone attending (or even your friends and relatives) to support the various honorees - whether it be our new/outgoing Executive Committee members, board members, Ma’asim Tovim and Quality Region / Club award winners, new regional and club executives, or the FJMC itself, with sponsorship and donation opportunities (details will be provided at a later date).

One major advantage of doing a virtual event is that it will be able to accomodate more members to attend.  With that, it will expose many FJMC members to see what the FJMC is all about and the opportunities a real in-person Convention can provide when it’s time for the 2023 convention.

On behalf of Danny Mandeau, Chair of the 2021 FJMC International Convention, and of all members of the many committees working behind the scenes to make this convention a great success, I would like to thank you in advance for your support as we prepare for the largest convention we have ever had.

Rick Wronzberg is currently the Co-Chair of the 2021 FJMC International Convention and member of the Executive Committee of the Ansh-eh Zafon Region located north of the 49th parallel.
